Rihanna has long since held the crown of Fashion Icon along with her career as both a musician and beauty entrepreneur, but can we add Zendaya to the list? It’s time. Zendaya Coleman, born September 1, 1996 first appeared on the scene around 2009 as a model for Macy’s, Mervyns, and Old Navy. She also appeared as a backup dancer in a Sears commercial alongside Disney star Selena Gomez. From there, the now-actress recorded and released her self-titled album on September 17, 2013.
Fast forward, many of us have come to know Zendaya for her breakout role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Many were fascinated with the young star, from childhood to adulthood Zendaya surprised us with her range. She has gone on to star in movies such as The Greatest Showman, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Malcolm and Marie, Dune, Spider-Man: No Way Home and more recently, Euphoria.
The actress is known for making minimal appearances, however, when she does attend award shows we cannot deny that she knows how to steal the carpet. All eyes are on her…and for good reason. Zendaya knows her angles, how to stand, arch and which parts of her body to highlight. She does this technique where she stands tall, protruding one leg slightly in front of the other and keeping her movements steadily changing between shots from the waist up.

While many have come to speculate that her career may not be longstanding with her refusal to go nude in movies—as stated in her contract—amongst other things, we beg to differ. Perhaps her role as MJ is not the most developed, but Zendaya in both Malcolm and Marie and Euphoria has shown audiences around the world that she is a force to be reckoned with when given good material. As long as she keeps that up and continues to serve us looks on the red carpet there is no telling how far she will go.
