Is Padel Fashion Taking Single Women by Storm?

by Samara Morris

“Men really aren’t smart, and I think they’re getting too comfortable saying ridiculous things out loud, especially on the public internet.” – Your BF’s Worst Nightmare, via TikTok.

This was in response to a male commenter who stated, “We want to sleep with the BBL models, but we want to marry the natural women.” What exactly does that mean? SheraSeven breaks it down even further: “Men don’t want to date or settle down with a heavy-set, surgically enhanced, or plus-sized woman—they feel devalued. They know that if they are seen in public with the aforementioned type of woman, men and women alike will think he’s too poor to afford an attractive woman.”

Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it’s no coincidence that there’s been an uptick in the Pilates girly aesthetic and veganism. Not only that, but more women are diving into the world of sports, and while fitness could be deemed the primary reason, fashion is taking the ‘S’ class rank.

When asked, “What are some hobbies you prefer the women you date to get into?” 85% of men said, “Going to the gym and dressing up.” With the BBL trend slowly fading, it’s become evident that it was done for the male gaze. Now, with more men speaking openly about their preferences and the type of women they’re willing to marry, we can see a shift happening.

As more women lean into a slim-thick look, sports like tennis, Padel, and racquetball have become increasingly popular. She gets to wear her LUEQ bodysuit while burning calories and staying healthy—sounds like a win-win to me. Sabrina Anthony, one of the founders of ‘City Girls Serve,’ a tennis group for women recently sponsored by LUEQ, shares, “We are embracing a broader vision that celebrates not only the power of action and service but also the unique individuality and style that each girl brings to the court.”

Because brands like LUEQ are considered high-society sports brands, this collaboration made sense. With the rising popularity of Padel, single women seem to be bridging the two—fashion and athleticism. We can attempt to decenter men all we want, but the truth is, the average single woman wants to be in a stable, happy, and healthy relationship. Does this mean her relationship won’t face challenges? No. But there are far more benefits to being fashionable and healthy than simply attracting the male gaze.

Overall, you will have more confidence, and you’ll look and feel your best. This type of confidence makes it easier for you to attract a healthy and wise masculine man. Men need women to boost their social status, and women like having men for companionship. When a woman takes pride in her appearance and etiquette, she is deemed feminine and will be heavily sought after.

There are plenty of dating coaches online who claim to be gurus or teachers of femininity, but the truth is, femininity is energy and therefore cannot be taught. Feminine energy is a lifestyle that one embraces—she listens more than she speaks, takes pride in her overall appearance, is a humanitarian, and is elegant. She can make her presence known without saying a word. So, is Padel and Padel fashion a lifestyle you should adopt?

WHAT IS PADEL FASHION?

Padel Fashion refers to specialized clothing and accessories designed for the sport itself, a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. Padel first began gaining popularity in Europe and Latin America. It has also become a sport with a strong focus on style and comfort, blending performance gear with fashion-forward designs.

The clothing associated with Padel is typically made from lightweight, breathable fabrics, such as moisture-wicking shirts, skirts, dresses, and shorts that allow for flexibility and comfort on the court. Additionally, the footwear consists of specially designed shoes that provide grip, support, and agility for quick lateral movements on the court. Stylish headbands, wristbands, and visors, as well as functional items like performance socks, sunglasses, and sporty bags, are also associated with Padel fashion.

Since the pandemic, many men and women have grown increasingly comfortable with wearing loungewear around the house and outside. This includes sweaters and long-sleeve shirts with thumbholes. While this fashion was trendy due to its comfort, it was also the lazy man’s go-to style. Swapping jeans for leggings to go to the supermarket, brunch, and even to enjoy a nice dinner became all too favorable since, well, leggings aren’t going to tell you you’re gaining weight, but those jeans will.

It may not have been intentional that many of us began to gain weight, but now, with the rise of associating sports clothes with actual movement and athleticism again, it’s a good way to bring back intentional dieting, planning, and fun. Sports like tennis and Padel are not the only options for women interested in being more active in their daily lives. It’s also good to consider hiking or working out in a gym where you feel comfortable and safe.

Don’t get too hung up on male preferences, although some of that was highlighted in the article. It’s important to know that location also plays a huge role in the men you’re going to attract. A woman who shows up to the gym or to the court for Padel in White Plains, NY, will experience a different pool of men than those at a Blink Fitness in the South Bronx. Make sure that if you’re going to do it, you’re doing it for yourself, and bask in your fabulosity—you deserve it.
