The 24-year-old model and designer, who is also the youngest child of legendary singer Lionel Richie, became engaged to Elliot Grainge, a music executive and founder of 10K Projects, in April of 2022.

According to Vogue, a trio of dresses was created by Chanel for her three major wedding-weekend events: the rehearsal dinner, which took place on Friday night at a private estate; the ceremony; and the after-party. “It has always been a dream of mine to have Chanel design my wedding dress,” Sofia says.

“At my first fitting at the Chanel salons in Paris, I immediately envisioned the dress I wanted to get married in: a beautiful lace-embroidered halter gown with a long train. Within the dress are subtle details, including an embroidered heart to represent the love that Elliot and I share, as well as a blue embroidered S&E on the inside of the dress above my heart.”

Sofia wanted to do something unique for her veil, so she worked with the Chanel team to create a glistening piece adorned with resin water droplets that sparkled when she walked.

The internet has been buzzing about not only about Sofia's wedding looks, but the model's overall difference in style over the years. She went from bodycon dresses to old-money chic. If Sofia has shown us anything, it's that dressing conservative doesn't mean you have to compromise on style.

In fact, with a few simple tips, you can dress conservatively and still look cute and fashionable. Whether you're dressing for work, a formal event, or just everyday wear, there are plenty of ways to express your personal style while keeping things conservative.

Here are some tips:

INVEST IN CLASSIC PIECES

When dressing conservatively, it's important to focus on classic pieces that are timeless and versatile. This means investing in high-quality items that will stand the test of time. Look for tailored blazers, pencil skirts, button-down blouses, tailored trousers and leggings in neutral colors like black, grey, and white.

Even though leggings might seem more casual, fashion experts at the Attire Project explain that leggings can easily be elevated with a pair of heels and a long blazer. These items will form the foundation of your conservative wardrobe and can be mixed and matched in countless ways.

OPT FOR MODEST NECKLINES AND HEMLINES

When choosing tops and dresses, opt for modest necklines and hemlines. This means avoiding low-cut tops and short skirts. Instead, choose items with higher necklines like crewnecks and boatnecks, and longer hemlines like midi and maxi-length dresses and skirts. This will help you maintain a conservative look without sacrificing style.

EXPERIMENT WITH COLORS AND PRINTS

Just because you're dressing conservatively doesn't mean you have to stick to neutral colors and plain fabrics. Experiment with bold colors and prints to add some personality to your outfit. Choose prints that are subtle and classic, like stripes and polka dots, and pair them with neutral accessories to keep the overall look balanced.

ACCESSORIZE WITH STATEMENT PIECES

Accessories are a great way to add some personality to your conservative outfit. Opt for statement pieces like bold earrings, a chunky necklace, or a colorful scarf. These items can help you express your personal style and make your outfit feel more unique.

PAY ATTENTION TO FIT

When dressing conservatively, it's important to pay attention to fit. Choose items that fit well and flatter your body shape. This means avoiding items that are too tight or too loose. When in doubt, opt for tailored pieces that are tailored to your body shape.

LAYER WITH CARDIGANS AND JACKETS

Layering is key when dressing conservatively. It allows you to stay covered up while still adding some variety to your outfit. Opt for cardigans and jackets in neutral colors like black, gray, and navy. These items can be worn over blouses, dresses, and skirts to add some warmth and texture to your outfit.

CHOOSE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

When building a conservative wardrobe, it's important to choose quality over quantity. Instead of buying lots of cheap items, invest in high-quality pieces that will last longer and look better. This means spending a little more on items like blazers, trousers, and dresses, and opting for well-made fabrics like wool, silk, and cotton.

In conclusion, dressing conservatively doesn't mean sacrificing style. With a few simple tips, you can dress in a way that is both conservative and cute. Invest in classic pieces, opt for modest necklines and hemlines, experiment with colors and prints, accessorize with statement pieces, pay attention to fit, layer with cardigans and jackets, and choose quality over quantity. By following these tips, you can create a wardrobe that is both stylish and appropriate for any occasion.
