The proposal took place in Los Angeles, where Jutes presented Lovato with a custom-designed pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring from Material Good. The couple, both dressed in all-black, exuded joy in their low-key engagement photoshoot against a romantic backdrop of a black curtain adorned with rose petals and candles.

Described as a "personal and intimate" moment by People, Jutes surprised Lovato by taking her to Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood after the proposal. They were joined by family and close friends to celebrate the joyous occasion.

Expressing her excitement on Instagram, Lovato, 31, wrote, “I’m still speechless. last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic... My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you. Every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true, and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby 🥰.”

Jutes, 32, echoed these sentiments in his own post, stating, “Yesterday I asked my best friend to marry me and she said yes. I can’t imagine my life without you, and thank God now I’ll never have to. Feeling like the luckiest man alive right now. I’m so in love with you @ddlovato 🖤.”

Lovato and Jutes started dating in August 2022, nearly two years after Lovato ended her first engagement with actor Max Ehrich. The couple made their red carpet debut at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy gala in February, and their love has continued to blossom.

Jutes, expressing his admiration for Lovato on her birthday, shared, “Happy birthday to my best friend. You’re obviously the most beautiful and talented person to ever do it. But more importantly, you’re weird af and u make me cry laughing... I didn’t know the perfect person existed until I met u.”

Lovato, during a recent appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show," shared details about meeting Jutes in the recording studio while working on her 2022 album, "Holy Fv-k." Their collaboration extended beyond music, with Jutes co-writing songs like "Substance." Lovato expressed the uniqueness of their connection, emphasizing the joy of making music and sharing laughter with a special someone.
