Best Zodiac Signs to Date

by Lisa K. Stephenson

Whatever happened to the female ‘hoe phase’?

*You don't have to have sex with every man you meet, but you can date and have options.

Hear me out… Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more women in their early 20s complaining about men not wanting relationships or, if they do, their partners not being romantic. Here’s the thing: comparison is the thief of joy, and sadly, in today’s climate of family vlogs, relationship stories, and couple goals being splashed across our social media timelines, it’s no wonder many young women are experiencing what is called FOMO (fear of missing out).

Take a woman like Nara Smith, for example, who is 22 years old, married with three children, and seemingly lives a traditional wife lifestyle. This leads other women her age to question their life choices and whether or not they’ll find their prince charming by the age of twenty-two. When I was in high school, I would daydream about my life in my twenties, believing that by the age of twenty-six, I would be married to a man named Kareem. He would be a pro-basketball player, we’d live in this enormous house, have sex all day, and raise two beautiful kids together.

Well, reality hit, and by that age, I was dealing with an abusive ex-boyfriend, cheating, and just moving into my first apartment. Now, had I been living vicariously through the women on my Instagram timeline, I would have been devastated about where my life was at that time. But since social media wasn’t that important back then, I couldn’t compare my life to others, and so, I was grateful. I felt like I had achieved such a huge milestone and could not wait to live my best bachelorette life, and that I did. Thankfully, I had the chance to be independent and learn how to take care of myself while simultaneously learning more about myself as a woman—my likes, dislikes, standards, and expectations.

I also had the chance to go to therapy, travel, and enjoy my freedom. Now, at the age of thirty-three, I am finally ready for a husband. In the past, I would entertain men whom I did not see a future with, and then when they broke my heart, I would become devastated. My sadness and attachment to these men weren’t because they were good people; it was because I felt rejected by them—men who never should have had me in the first place. This primarily happened because I was unsure of who I was…it was less about them and more about me.

Now, I am very cutthroat; if I’m not impressed by a man within a week, then I will not waste my time. This helps me to remain in my power and allow God to place the right person in my life that much faster. My intentions are set, and so are my goals. But I would never have had this epiphany and growth if I kept comparing my life to others. I believe that women should submit to their partners, be an exemplary support system, never outshine him, and overall, be a loving and committed spouse. I am feminine and take pride in the idea of maintaining a household that my husband will provide.

So, if you’re like me and you’ve done the hard work and are ready for a long-term commitment (i.e., marriage and children), here are some of the best zodiac signs to date:

NUMBER ONE: TAURUS (April 20 – May 20):

Before dating a Taurus man, these signs never crossed my mind or were ever on my radar. Now, as a woman looking for a husband, I am ambitious in my search for a Taurus man. Taurus individuals are reliable, loyal, and grounded, making them excellent partners for many. They value stability and are committed to building strong, long-lasting relationships. Their practical nature ensures that they are attentive to their partner’s needs, making them ideal companions.

But I am a Leo, which automatically tosses me out of the running for one of these men because they are very needy and selfish. That’s a terrible combination for someone like me, as I can be detached and require reciprocity. However, my faith lies in the fact that both Taurus and Leo are loyal signs who communicate well. If we can communicate, then we can compromise, and once that’s out of the way, then best believe I’m standing ten toes down with my Taurian, once I find him, of course.

NUMBER TWO: CANCER (June 21 – July 22):

Cancerians are nurturing, empathetic, and deeply caring, making them incredibly supportive partners. They are intuitive and sensitive to their partner’s emotions, fostering a strong emotional connection in relationships. Cancer’s loyalty and dedication make them highly valued in romantic partnerships. Cancers made the list because while researching for this article and finding threads of “worst signs to date,” there is never a Cancer on the list.

NUMBER THREE: Virgo (August 23 – September 22):

Dating a Virgo can be tough because they appear to be judgmental, but they are detail-oriented, practical, and reliable, which makes them excellent partners for those seeking stability and security in a relationship. They are meticulous in their approach to love, paying attention to finer details and ensuring that their partner feels cared for and appreciated.

Also, when it comes to Virgos, they can seem hard to please because they do not enjoy meaningless conversations or unintelligent partners. If you have your eyes set on a Virgo, please be well-read, traveled, and able to carry on a conversation that involves more than a three-word vocabulary. Unlike Geminis who love to teach, Virgos can lack patience so meet them halfway, and have a brain.

NUMBER FOUR: SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21):

Scorpios are passionate, intense, and deeply loyal, making them incredibly devoted partners. They are fiercely protective of their loved ones and are not afraid to show their affection openly. Scorpios value honesty and emotional intimacy in relationships, creating deep connections with their partners.

Not only that, but Scorpios will hold your secrets as they can be quite secretive themselves! If you’re looking to settle down with a Scorpio, you have to have self-control because one thing this sign is not going to do is babble about the intimate details of their life. As a Scorpio rising, I resonate with this very well. We value calmness and humility.

NUMBER FIVE: LIBRA (September 23 – October 22):

Locking down a Libra man can be tough because at first, they seem to love bomb their partners only to disappear later on. But make no mistake, these signs are charming, diplomatic, and sociable, making them skilled at maintaining harmony in relationships. It’s seldom that you’ll hear about a Libra man having issues with an ex or a past lover. These signs are all about justice and keeping the scales balanced. They are excellent communicators who also uphold fairness and compromise as they value relationships where mutual respect and understanding are prioritized.

NUMBER SIX: LEO (July 23 – August 22):

Leos are natural leaders who take pride in their relationships and family. Once a Leo falls in love with you, they will do their best to protect you fiercely. These signs make for great partners due to their generosity, confidence, and passion. If you want a partner who will provide and protect, this is the person you’re looking for.

However, there are two kinds of Leo men—the mature and immature. When you’re dating a Leo man, you want to focus on someone who is mature and stable. Most fire and earth sign men will come with stability. Celebrities like Ben Affleck, Chris Hemsworth, Jason Momoa, Daniel Radcliffe, and Andrew Garfield all have their sun in Leo.

HONORABLE MENTION | PISCES (February 19 - March 20):

Pisceans are empathetic, romantic, and imaginative, making them incredibly compassionate partners. They are intuitive and understanding, always willing to lend a listening ear or offer emotional support to their loved ones. Pisces' creativity and willingness to go the extra mile make them cherished companions in relationships.
